Moving to a new place
Responsive Mobile-First Website

My Goal
The primary objective of this project was to craft a user-friendly, responsive, mobile-first website that serves as a valuable tool for individuals in the process of relocating from one place to another.
The Problem
Moving is a major life event that can be both challenging and overwhelming. Whether it’s relocating to a different country, pursuing a new job or education opportunity, or simply seeking more space, the process entails careful planning and organization.
To ensure a smooth transition, proper preparation is crucial. This includes hiring a reliable moving company and arranging for assistance with packing and unpacking. Gathering accurate information is also essential for any needs or circumstances that may arise during the move.
My Contributions
For this project, I conducted research to identify the problems faced by the users. I then came up with potential solutions and created a sitemap, project goals, defined flows, and wireframes. I also worked on branding and UI components, followed by prototyping and usability testing.
Project duration: 5 weeks
Tools: Figma, FigJam

User Research
To define the problem and the audience I started with research. User research is a critical component of the design process as it allows me to gain valuable insights into the needs, behaviors, and preferences of my target users.
Competitive Analysis
Secondary research helped me get to and compare the existing data with my information. This enabled me to offer my users something they didn’t already have.
Secondary Research Findings
I saw that there is a lot of information about moving on various platforms, as well as websites for moving companies, but there are none that offer everything in one place. Our platform includes personalized options like packing, moving boxes, and professional advice for safe furniture transportation. This will separate us from others.
We also prioritize innovation in moving supplies and offer rental options for specialized moving tools.
Individual Interview- 5 participants
We discussed their experience related to moving. Some of the questions were:
What were some of the challenges you faced during the moving process?
What problems did you face with the organization?
What are your thoughts on receiving assistance in developing a budget and crafting a plan for your move?
What do you think about moving companies?
What do you think a successful move looks like?
Affinity Mapping
From Affinity Mapping, I discovered that many participants shared similar views on Moving Companies. None of the participants had used their services, and most of them found them expensive. The primary issue with moving was how to pack and transfer belongings without causing any damage. Many participants suggested that having a few more people to help would be helpful.
Through Affinity Mapping, I learned that there were great similarities in answers related to Moving Companies. Of all the participants, no one used them and everyone said that their services were expensive. The biggest problem is how to pack things and how to transfer them without damaging them. Almost everyone answered that it would be nice if they had a couple more people to help them.
Personas
I had two personas which helped me to make the right decisions and solutions for users.
Define
During this phase of the project, my goal was to summarize all the data I received from the research and to better define the problem through the Point of View Statement and How Might We questions. After that, I created user personas based on research to better understand the target audience.
Mid fidelity wireframes
After sketching the wireframes, I digitized the mid-fidelity wireframes in the Figma program to get an idea of how they would look.
Style Guide
The next step was the creation of the Logo as well as the selection of colors and typography
Hight Fidelity Wireframes
Test
It was time for the design to be brought to life and for potential users to test it. Usability testing was conducted with 5 participants.
User Task
1.Search for supplies and purchase a box.
2. Find out how to pack clothes for moving.
All users could complete tasks without problems or difficulties. Navigation was easy to use.
Revisions
Easy Move Final Key Screens
Conclusions
During this project, I have come to realize the immense significance of early testing and iteration. Any issue identified at the outset can be resolved before it causes problems in the later stages of the project. Working on this project has also taught me the importance of adhering to established standards that users are already familiar with and that users are already used to.
